I am trying to data log with this Parallax Memory Stick Data Logger (based on the Vinculum USB controller):
http://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/434/Default.aspx?

But I am not having any luck.  I tried modifying some Propeller code, and also tried using the VMUSIC2 example, since it uses the same chip and command set:

Does anyone have resources concerning how to use the USB Stick data logger?

Alternatively, does anyone have other data logging setups that have been proven?  I'm just trying to store some sensor data without having a computer attached...

Here is my code, simplified to the max, to just try to create a file and close it:

void setup() {

      Serial.begin(9600);                    // opens serial port, sets data rate to 9600 bps
        delay(2000);
        Serial.print("IPA");                  // sets the vdip to use ascii numbers
        Serial.print(13, BYTE);               // return character to tell vdip its end of message
}

void loop()
{

    delay(2000)  ;

    Serial.print("OPW test.txt");
    Serial.print(13, BYTE);

    delay(2000);

    Serial.print("CLF test.txt");
    Serial.print(13, BYTE);

    delay(2000);
}
