This video shows a Arduino Nano based control kit (cost ~$110) velcro'd to the top of a 1/10 scale model level radio control car. 

The car races around the room counter clockwise when the radio transmitter is powered OFF.  When it is ON the car obeys he commands sent to it from the transmitter.

The purpose is to use open wires, solderless prototyping and Arduino0022 C-code to make clear to middle school students how these things work.
