Antenna compatibility

Hey I'm Edwin
I'm doing a senior project which requires us to send gps coordinates from a bus to a server.

For my senior project I'm using the following shield from cooking hacks for the arduino http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/documentation/tutorials/arduino-3g-gprs-gsm-gps?utm_source=banner_3g_shield&utm_medium=banner
Now, our uni will only buy from the US, so we found a us reseller- microcontrollershop.com

On cooking hacks' website, the recommended antenna is the following: http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/shop/wireless/antennas/gprs-gsm-antenna-external.html

My question is: does this following antenna with an sma to ufl connector compare to the external gprs/gsm antenna on cooking hack's website? (are we gonna be able to get a good 3g connection from it?) [microcontrollershop.com /product_info.php?products_id=3773](http://microcontrollershop.com /product_info.php?products_id=3773)

Thanks for your help!
