Will this work as an ultrasonic rangefinder?

Hey guys I was just wondering if you could help me out with a question I have.

I am making a wall avoiding robot which detects the wall using a ultrasonic rangefinder such as the LV-MaxSonar-EZ3 (http://bit.ly/lvy9DD)

However I found this one (http://bit.ly/kQiSmE) that is a lot cheaper and I want to know if it would do the same job or is it a completely different sensor all together?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cheap one is just the transducer. You have to add all the electronics to drive it yourself. I don't think you are up to that yet.

I bought one of these on eBay and it works really well.

At that price it would be rude not to.
