Looking for advice on what component to use for a project I'm working on.
I'm building a small controller that will be used onboard, staging the firing of a few rocket motors.
Each output needs to be able to handle multiple igniters and and therefor be able to supply a min of 8-10 amps for future projects.
I'm looking at safety during an output failure of which ever switching component I decide to use (Triac-MOSFET-SSR). I would hate to turn it on and have everything go off because of a MOSFET failure which I have witnessed in the past.
Having the component opto-isolated is a plus.
I would be building a few of these for friends so price would be a factor.
When dealing with MOSFETs what are the pro and cons over N-Channel Vs P-Channel?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
