Hi forum!
I'm a new member and I would really appreciate your opinion.
I would like to connect my Arduino Uno to my paradox alarm panel's serial port.
I understand that if I connect the reset pin with the ground pin on the arduino, I can use it as a USB to TTL adapter. Right? (source: http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-Arduino-into-USB-to-TTL-Adapter-with-1-wire/)
My question is, if I connect the RX (pin 0) and the TX (pin 1) directly on to the alarm panel's serial, will it work or will I burn something?
Thinking of connecting the arduino RX pin to the first pin on the serial port and the TX pin on the second one.
Is this right? (source: Connecting Paradox intrusion control unit to the Ethernet | Papouch.com)
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Tom
