Hi
I have a project where a barcode scanner scans a barcode then the numbers of the barcodes are entered into arduino the arduino then searches the number on the excel file and returns the price and name of the product? Barcode scan

Is it possible for arduino to search from an excel file on an sd card and return the value on the same row ?

I've attached examples.

Why is the Arduino needed? ? ?

Everything can be done by a program written in any language on a PC.

If this is a school problem. Say so.
If this is a work problem. Say so. And then stop with this silly idea.

I know that.

The difference is that we don't do school projects for people.

Lying to us is not a good idea to start your presence on this forum.

I'm not asking for you to do my project
I'm simply asking if something is possible
There is no need for me to explain what this is for as it is not relevant
And at exactly what pint did I lie to you

Anything is possible.
You post a bad link which most people won't bother to click on.

And then you get defensive about whether it is a school project or not.
You haven't denied it.

There are lots of people who post here.
We have a seen a lot of the shenanigans that people try to pull.

Be honest upfront and then you don't have to go around explaining yourself.

Some of the people on this side of your monitor are moral.

Parsing an Excel file is going to vary between difficult and impossible depending on the Arduino and which of the two Excel file formats you want to use.

Are you certain your instructor wants you to use "an excel file"?  Is it possible they meant "an excel compatible file"?
