I have a constant voltage and current source connected to a LilyPad and another circuit in parallel. Do I need to take steps to limit the current being provided to the LilyPad, or is this taken care of by the device itself?

You only have to control voltage. The device will draw only as much current as it needs. If you power supply has a current limit you have to make sure that the limit is higher than what your circuit needs.
