I have just recently gotten my Arduino Ethernet Shield SD2, the one with the microSD slot.
Looking around for code, I found this website:

I have tried the code, and for some reason, say I create a file (also, yes, I formatted the SD card to FAT) called "test.txt" and add some text in it like "hello world", try to open the file through the arduino, and the file is empty.
Insert the SD into my PC, and the file got modified and no longer contains any text.
I tried this code that I found on the forums (kudos to MrFreeze), same thing: index.htm becomes blank when I insert it into the arduino and read from it:
