I have no experiance with programming but want to make a security spot light which tracks a person within an environment.
Can this be done?

It is tricky, you have to track the person, this would at best involve a CCTV camera, and tracking software on a PC. I don't see how you can do it on an arduino.
you could have a look at the WII-remote-stuff... Not sure if it could be done. But the wiimote's IRcamera can send the x and y values of the "most IR"-spot over I2C...
But i guess it's not project for a beginner...
It is also not a project for someone who posts the same question 5 times in different sections.
