I've ordered what looks to be the same receiver as you mentioned. I also took a punt on a couple of cheap ones from china. They were only about $1.30 each with free shipping so I figured it was worth a gamble.
When they get here I'll see what I can do with the arduino.
With the data stream that you got, how did you know what it was? I mean, did you filter it for ascii conversion or was it just a stream of numbers?
