I just checked my new Mega board ( fanfare )
It draws 59mA which seemed high to me, so I turned to the "2009" boards and did some measurements what I should have done months ago already.
3.5 mA (Power LED)
5 mA (Controller in reset (seems high to me, but note that already the 10k sucks 0.5 mA!))
9 mA (in addition to the 5mA when controller is running)
5 mA (FTDI chip without USB connected)
8 mA (in addition when USB connected)
0.5 mA (sucked by 5V regulator)
31 mA altogether
I have also some more primitive boards with MAX232 and 7805 regulatator. It is much worse there, the 7805 alone sucks 7 mA!
