Hi, i want to attach a normal microphone to my laptop's line-in. Furthermore i'ld like to get access to the sound recorded by the microphone from arduino to to further processing (like fft etc.) How can this be achieved? Thanks

what is pre-amp?

An amplifier that takes in very low level signals and amplifies them so that there is enough signal to drive a regular amplifier.
