Hello Everyone,
There is a really interesting 100% Arduino Compatible GPS/GLONASS Tracker project recently released as an Indiegogo Campaign:
The board features the same CPU as the Arduino DUE, a Quectel M95 GSM/GPRS Modem, and Quectel L76 GPS/GLONASS module as well as CAN-BUS Interface and plenty of I/O Access. Also, free tracking service will be provided.
It's possible to get a complete set with cables, antenna, enclosure etc. to start tracking with the device immediately, or alternatively it's also possible to just get the board.
This is a great alternative to trying to pack all these features together with various shields, and a lot cheaper too.
The board alone with the GSM/GPRS Modem and CAN-BUS offers great application possibilities like:
- Vehicle tracking and fleet management.
- Remote vehicle monitoring with attached sensors.
- Container tracking and monitoring with sensors.
- Geofencing with SMS alerts (get SMS alerts when tracker leaves a specified area).
- Home Alarm System with SMS Alerts.
- GPS Logger
- CAN-BUS logger
- SMS Gateway
- SMS remote controller - GSM to CAN/Serial Gateway (control machines with SMS commands).
- Weather station with SMS notifications (using sensors).
- Outdoor GPS clock.
It's worth checking out the campaign and see more details.
Best,
marQ
