arduino air conditioner

hi everyone!!

im working on a new project : hacking a remote control to control an air conditoner.
actually i wanna regulate the A/C according to the outside temperature close to the exernal unit. so i wanna get the infrared remote's signal to reproduct this signal by the arduino..So what material solution you suggest me ?
thank u

IR to see what is being sent to the A/C from the remote, and reproduce to get desired setpoint.
Plenty of IR examples.
The hard part is decoding the data.

This may be what you are looking for to decode your a/c remote's IR signal.

You will struggle to control most ac units the way you would like. If you dont want to decode
The ir signals link up arduino to control the switching on the controller directly
