Uploading sketch problem

I'm just learning Arduino. Have Arduino Uno on windows 7. Is there a way to clear the Arduino before uploading a new sketch. Also, is there a way to download the sketch in the Arduino so I can verify what it is trying to execute and make desirable modifications? Thanks for any suggestions.

No. not easily.
