Is it possible to drive a small LCD from a CASIO watch with Arduino?

I've just found a pretty old but still working CASIO watch in my drawer.

It has a small LCD display as it can be seen in the image above. I believe I can safely disassemble the watch and take out the LCD unit.
Is it possible to drive this kind of LCD with Arduino? What are the basic principles of it?

Thanks in advance!

its possible, it requires AC voltage (if you drive dc though it the crystals will migrate with the current flow), its going to be a pain in the butt

AC voltage? That's strange. The watch works with a simple battery. That's not AC voltage.
So you say it's possible but doesn't worth it?

Yeah.
But how cool would it be to show them the proof that gramps used to be a mad scientist ?
