Re: How to host a website that can control the Arudino over Internet

how to control home ligths using arduino???through internet??? please help us.. i want to graduate on time..tnx a lot in advance..

we need to turn on annd off home lights using the internet.. what kind/type of opto isolator or optocoupler is the best one??

You might want to consider using relays.

Hi, The best way to control lights and many other things is with relays. They will work with 115 or 230V lights, incandescent, fluorescent or CFL or Low Voltage.

Optical isolation is good; many low-cost relay boards have isolation.

For lots of How-To on controlling power with Arduino see the http://ArduinoInfo.Info WIKI http://arduino-info.wikispaces.com/ArduinoPower

Web Interfaces: I have only sent data to the web so far. There are examples that use Cosm.com to send Temperature and Humidity data etc. here:

As I said in another thread, posting the same question in multiple threads only serves to annoy the people that you are seeking help from.

can someone help us with our project??

Help you with it? Sure. Do it for you? Sure, but it will cost you.

Depends on your requirements, such as voltage and current.

we need all the info about automated residential lighting with online access.

Google has been known to often provide "all the info"

Start with
http://www.x10.com/catalog/cat_automation.htm?TWENTY11
Then

And

Ugh. There's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

@cludmond12, if you cross-post one more time I will ban you.

im so sorry :relaxed:

to all the people who did something to help me.from d bottom of my heart thank you so much!!!!

@zoomkat - if we will a relay. what kind of relay are we going to use if we have plenty of bulbs to be used. sorry, i dont know where to start with our project automated residential lighting with online access..
tnxs alot zoomkat..

You should ask your instructor who is probably getting a lot of your $$$ to help you with your projects. Relay selection will most likely depend on the voltage and current requirements of the household gizmos you want to control. I posted a link to arduino controllable relays on ebay, read their specifications and compare that to what you need to control.

tnx alot.

Visit my site http://www.power7.net if you want control something via web.Thanks.

Look at KSduino: http://ksduino.org

It's free online service to connect your arduino to Internet:

  • send any Parameters of your Controllers to this web server and monitor it in graphic and text mode in real time

  • control your devices from this web site

  • send information from one to other connected devices

what kind of relay can drive by the arduino, pls specify its kind or part number..tnx a lot
what is the part number of this relay with 5V driver that can manipulate 220V,1A bulb???

I have something like this: http://ksdu.in/o/2F

tnx alot!! :))))

haha we almost have the same project man... hehe how are you doing with yours? actually i am still in progress with mine.. sorry we cannot speak in tagalog i guess.. hope to receive some ideas from what you have done so far and your plans because we almost have identical project hehe
