Hall-Effect Sensor / Magnetic Field Sensor

Hi Everyone

I am trying to sense proximity & relative position between two objects. I am mainly interested in close proximity (maximum proximity of interest is 5cm/2inches). I have built prototypes using magnetic switches and digital hall sensors and am quite satisfied so far.

I would like to have an analog input signal, so I can gather a bit more information on orientation etc. (using multiple sensors). Does anyone have a recommendation on a sensor I could use?

Due to the form factor, this sensor needs to be as small as possible.

Sensors I found through a google search that I would consider are these here:

If anyone has any tipps for me, I would be grateful

Thanks

A while ago I wrote - Arduino Playground - Hall Effect - Although simple it might help.

cool. didnt think of checking the playground. I may add to that if I figure out anything additional which is of interest

thanks for the link.
