At those sorts of currents, you'll need a driver.
That you're asking the question implies (to me) that you should stump-up the cash for the proper driver.

Glancing through it it looks like they give you the option to control it via a serial port (which arduino can talk to). Numerous encoders that the company also carries. Says something about a 5V control signal on 8.14.5.1 . And a couple dozen other interfaces. Now I'd suggest you give the company a call and ask them about the how you can control it through the 5V bus or the RS232 (make sure to tell them your not using a computer, and instead a microcontroller), cause as I glance through, I'm not exactly seeing a list of serial commands to send to the thing. TAKE NOTES.
And then come back and tell us what you've learned. Then we can be of more service to you.
