exit status 1 is just a very generic error that means something went wrong.

Do you see that black window at the bottom of the Arduino IDE window? It's called the console and it contains helpful information about the error. When you have a compile error you need to scroll that window all the way to the top(helps to resize it larger) and start reading it from the top

When you encounter an error you'll see a button on the right side of the orange bar "Copy error messages". Click that button. Paste the error in a message here USING CODE TAGS (</> button on the toolbar).

Did you get the special "I get to make shit up" version of the IDE? I didn't think so.

You haven't defined a variable called sensorThresgold.
You haven't defined a variable called sensorThreshold.

It makes no sense to add up a bunch of numbers and so nothing with the result.

That was as far as I read.

This sort of error could be caused by your antivirus software. Try TEMPORARILY disabling your antivirus for a single compilation to see if the problem goes away, then turn the antivirus back on. If the problem doesn't occur with the antivirus off you will need to adjust the settings of your antivirus to whitelist the appropriate file, folder, or process so it doesn't interfere with compilation.

There is more information in the complete error message. Try using the Copy Error Message button and paste it ALL here. In </> code tags, just like you SHOULD have posted your code.

BTW what does this have to do with Robotics?

Ive tried to read peoples post to understand this error 1 thingy. I bought a Adeept environment monitor kit as my first project - what a bad move that was. So im 3 weeks into trying to get this thing to work. I my fingers got in the way every time on the build. Anyway i have the code here, And i'm obviously doing something wrong as it wont verify the code no matter how many times i threaten it lol..


 Oh it will not allow me to add the code as its more than 9000 characters  :(

So i been in the preferences and ticked both boxes and tried to verify it again, but that line keeps coming up
