i got one of these, now i am second guessing my choice,
am i going to be able to control this with the uno? it's serial and RoHS Compliant.
any one used one before or does it matter?

Yes you can use your UNO to control it. Read the documentation carefully. There's even code example link in the documentation:

Doesn't the Uno require peripherals containing lead and/or cadmium to function properly?

no batterys needed to run it with the uno. is that what you where getting at?

No - I was really questioning how being RoHS compliant or not would affect it's ability to be controlled by a Uno.

i've had luck with NHD displays, never used a serial model though.
