RS232

Hi,

The sensor output is mentioned as RS232 in the specification sheet. Can this type of sensor be integrated with the arduino and the xbee to transmit data wirelessly.

Thanku very much

Sure, you just need an RS232 buffer (such as MAX232) to convert the levels from around +/-10 into TTL 0-5V for the arduino to send to the Xbee.
Xbees also only work at 3.3V, so you need to buffer the arduino output to the xbee to bring the 0/5V level down to 0/3.3V.

May i know exactly what are all the components needed to do this and are they available at sparkfun website

Thanku very much

Instead of Xbee can i use GPS also. If so can you please post any sample code to achieve this.

Thanku

I'll do the search for you. SparkFun RS232 Shifter - SMD - PRT-00449 - SparkFun Electronics

Instead of Xbee can i use GPS also.

That doesn't make sense. You want to use a satellite navigation receiver instead of a wireless transceiver?

I'll do the search for you. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/449

Oh wow, sparkfun is getting pricey. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAX232-RS232-To-TTL-Converter-Adapter-Module-Board-/330779226662?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d03fa7226

Obviously I can't vouch for the seller, but there's a ton of options on there.
