led and motor circuit help

Hi,

I have a motor on pin3 controlled by pwm and transistor, id like to wire in an led that also works off the same pin 3 pwm. I understand i need to wire in parallel with the transistor and have tried this but the led only works when the transistor base pin is not connected. Any suggestions why this is happening? Image of board below. I have added a resistor between pin 3 and the transistor since taking the image below.

No you need to wire it up in parallel with the motor. There also needs to be a current limiting resistor in series with the LED.

We need to see a schematic not a photo of a heap of wires.
