I would heat up my old mobos and pull out those surface mount processors. I've been carrying them around since 05. Moved at least 4 times in between.

A hot air rework station. Haven't soldered with it yet but it make desoldering really easy.
Which one? I'll tell ya, it opens up a whole new sector of fun being able to work with smd packages like bga's. And of course there's blasting old boards with heat and then just picking off all those 0805's and 0603's resistors and caps and tossing them straight into the "extra parts bin".
