Topic: Library on external memory (Read 986 times) previous topic - next topic

Hi everyone.

Do anyone know if its possible to store a library on either external memorychip or SD card.

I want to do this since i have a UNO board with only 32KB memory and the library im using is taking up almost alle the memory. I hope some of you have ideas.

Best regards

That would not do you much good, because all the executable code has to be in flash memory.

Describe your project; there are undoubtedly other possibilities.

You can put the source code for the library in a text file on the SD card sure.  But the Arduino can't run it unless it has been compiled to hex code and put in the flash memory area.

If you need room for bigger libraries then you have to get a bigger chip.  Not really any way around that.

Please do not PM with technical questions or comments.  Keep Arduino stuff out on the boards where it belongs.
