Hi,
I've just tried out your modified code with a 1 x 16 LCD module from a fax machine with success.
It did seem to reset noticeably more reliably with the modified code.
My main suggestion would be to modify the case of the file so it matches the original name: LiquidCrystal.cpp. I suspect that the comments might need to be reduced in order to be accepted into the core.
Works for me.
