Logging gyro output

Hi Everyone

I am planning to build a rate table, and need to log the gyro output.
I think it is best to log the table rpm and gyro output onto an SD card. Any suggestions?
Is it better to use I2C or SPI for communication between the table, gyro to the Arduino board?

Has anyone used following shield?

Thanks

From the outside it looks ok, but no experience. I do have worked with - Data-Logger Shield for Arduino - and it worked like a charm, sorry works like a charm as it still functions great.

Thanks Rob

I guess, i will use the ladyAda one then. Did you buy it from them or put it together yourself?
I need the Arduino pins A4 and A5 for I2c communication with the Gyro.
Could you confirm if those pins are free on the shield?
How can you tell by looking at the sketch? I am new to diy electronics, hence the stupid questions
