Uno as ISP.

Can I use Arduino Uno as ISP for burning bootloader on another AVR chip(ATmega 328/168/8) to make my own breadboard Arduino.
I heard that Uno can not be used as ISP. Why? Is it according to USB to RS323 chip (Atmega BU2 not FTDI FT232)?
Please anyone give me advice.

Uno can be used as ISP just fine. I do it with mine all the time.

Ignore the 'NOTE:' on that page as the problem has long been resolved. The information is outdated and no one seems to be able to get the maintainers to actually fix it.
