I have been successfully reading current on an electric scooter using a 1 milli-ohm current shunt and cheap multimeter. The current through the two 12V batteries (i.e. 24V system) gets as high as 70A when engine is powering up a steep slope (that's almost 1.7kW!) and up to -10A when braking downhill…
