Hello there!

Before connecting an Arduino to that port, I would try and find out what voltage is applied to the red input side of the potentiometer. Is there a datasheet on the controller board?
Lines? Time isn't made up of lines. Time is made up of circles. That is why clocks are round.

NO, not like that. An Arduino cannot directly do what a potentiometer does.

You may be able to replace the manual potentiometer with a digital potentiometer that can be controlled by the Arduino.
