Hey there I have seen a post about powering on a GSM shield using only arduino codes HERE!

and I have a few questions:

I was wondering if it can be done with this kind of GSM by soldering the R13.

also in his code here he used pin 9. but seeing that we don't have the same board do I use pin 13 not pin 9? does this pin also needed to be connected to the Arduino (I'm using MEGA), if so which pin should be connected to which?

Code: [Select]
void powerUpOrDown()
{
  pinMode(9, OUTPUT);
  digitalWrite(9,LOW);
  delay(1000);
  digitalWrite(9,HIGH);
  delay(2000);
  digitalWrite(9,LOW);
  delay(3000);
}

Lastly will this process of soldering harm my GSM?

Cheers,
sen
