Breadboard helper LED board

I plan on making some of these helper PCBs to speed up circuit connections when testing on breadboards.
Any suggestions on this simple design?
I plan on making both common Cathode and Anode versions.

.

How about a DPDT slide sw on each channel to switch from Hi to LO true?

Thanks.

Trying to keep things small and pluggable into a bread board.
Having both common anode/cathode ’boards' let's the coder use HIGH or LOW logic turn on a led.

.

Another thought, if you use the newer "high brightness" LEDs you might get away with only 1 or 2 Ma per channel, I've got some blue and white ones that are plenty bright enough (IMHO) with a 2k2 R at 5V.

Yes, some of those SMD LEDs are very bright :astonished: and with larger dropping resistors you can keep current draw down to a minimum.
Will have to select appropriate resistor values as Vf is different for different colors. R/GN/BE/GN

Going to make a few of these boards in about an hour, I'll take a picture and show how they turned out.

.

Turned out well.

Yellow used a  1K series resistor.
Blue used a    2.2K series resistor.
Green used a   430R series resistor.
Red used  a    1K series resistor.

If there are DIYers out there, here is a 1:1 PDF of the 8 LED version.

What size are the leds and resistors? 0603?

Size is 1206

Yellow 1K
Blue 2.2K
Green 430 ohm
Red 1K
White 4.7K

Nuts. All I have are 0603 and 0402's.

Still, I'm going to download and perhaps on my next digikey order I'll go nuts with 1206 resistors.

BTW, I use a flush cut bit in a router to trim to the board outline.

Decided to remove the left hand machine pin and use a header wire instead.
This way there would be less chance in shorting an output pin to the common lead.

I made a harness to quickly connect the Arduino to the '10 LED breadboard helper card'.
