Robot with Reed element and Foto Resistor

this is the third prototype of my robot project, testing and experimenting with various kinds of input. the robots may look a little cheap but use of cardboard and hot glue (best invention since the steam engine :)) is a fast and simple way to get going.

here you see that i mounted a foto resistor into a little tube. I think that will cancel out unwanted light from sides. Tests though have shown that the robot also chases light reflections on shiny surfaces and so i get actually not the results wanted. in ideal conditions, in a dark room with only one bright light source, it performs well.
The reed element i mounted on right front wheel. it detects passing little magnets glued on the tyre. Now i got a defined rotation of the right side servo enableing to position robot towards light and performing exact turns.
the front has 3 micro switch bumpers.
