Sailboat Wind Sensor

I am on a team building an autonomous sailboat for a competition next summer. We need a reliable but affordable ultra-sonic anemometer (wind sensor). Needs to be 2-axis and we have about a 300-400 dollar budget for it.

Any advice or direction to a place that might know more about the specifications we need would be very helpful. We are a fairly new team and would appreciate advice.

Thank you,
-Jordan

He did request an ultrasonic sensor; I don't see that either company provides one (not trying to rag on you just trying to avoid a wild goose chase for the OP).

Modern Device sells a thermal wind speed sensor. I understand that isn't ultrasonic either but it has no moving parts which I assumed is the aspect you're looking for. If you used a number of them positioned in a circle around a cylinder to block wind you could probably calculate the wind direction, however.

No problem, missed the ultrasonic part. I only saw wind sensor, and knew the RPN4 interfaced with that and other things.
