What is the difference between a module and a board?

What is the difference between a module and a board?
A module is a unit of study. A board is a piece of wood.
Context helps immensely.
Oh, yeah? Well then what is the difference between a chip and a DIP?
Well, one eats salsa with a chip, a DIP can be plugged into a breadboard. You can't eat a breadboard.
Chips can be SMD or DIP.
A module is typically a small CCA (circuit card assembly) that can plug onto a larger CCA. Both can be considered boards.
Very helpful, it's obvious, I'm talking about arduinos.
I would say that they're pretty much the same thing, with a SLIGHT implication that a "board" is easier to use immediately or closer to a real product, while a "module" requires more effort. An Arduino Pro Mini is a module, an EMSL Peggy is definitely a board, and an Arduino Uno is somewhat in-between...
