RFID RC522 ... Help required

I want to install RFID system as a car Security system. The PCB has on built coil and works fine with 5 leads attached to Arduino. Due to its bigger size, i cant place it in the required position. I have therefore decided to cut the coil part of PCB to make the coil small and place it in the required area.

  1. Can I do that or Can I connect any external coil with it ?
  2. How to reduce the no. of pins to max 2 or 3.

  1. no not without designing a replacement coil that resonates at the same frequency. To do that you need test equipment an oscilloscope and signal generator are the minimum.

Note an RFID is not normally any use close to metal like the car's bodywork.
