and... just how exactly do you think they maintain a constant current? Again by doing exactly what I just said for the feedback (which is exactly what the OP was asking about.) 
Anyway, wasn't looking for an argument, just looking to help the OP with his question. Do with it what you will, but all I can say is that the NiHM chargers that I have built work exactly as they should.
