Yesterday I connected the 5v to a transistor without a resistor in the middle (directly) and I am guessing that there way too much current being pulled by the transistor or relay it actuates and the board smoked out.
Please take a look at the images and please tell me if you think it can be saved and what would I need to replace?

The item in the red circle is cracked and there is conductivity between its poles, whereas on a new board there isnt.
