i bought a stereo today, but the seller didn't told me there was a code on the stereo. this is a personal code not the factory code. now i have found a device that hacks into the device. but it is to expensive because i have to use this once. now i think this device can easily be replaced by a arduino but i do not know where to start.
the link to the device = http://www.cdh.uk/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=104&search=sony

Where to start? Start by getting a data sheet on the device and the codes it sends and how it sends. Did you read this: These units are built to order and may take up to 14 days to build + delivery times.?

So each one may be different or the codes may be different. Once you have all the necessary information, then , perhaps, you can determine if an Arduino can do the job.

if you bought a locked stereo on an official online shop you should contact their legal department - they will no doubt be very interested - you may even get your money back!
