WEARABLE HEART ATTACK DETECTOR

I wanted to know about the possibilities of making a heart attack detecor in Arduino platform.
1.Which Version Of Arduino might be most apt for this as the board and other circuitry components is to be placed close to body like attached to the belts around waist (as it should not create any harm to the body ) ?
2.which are the sensor modules most apt for Arduino in measuring pulse rate ?

PLEASE HELP ME GIVING YOUR VALUABLE SUGGESTIONS

If you were qualified to make such a device (which is to say, working in a company which was in a position to fund the certification requirements), then I venture to say you would not be asking this question here, or in this manner.

Sorry.

I just want to know about the possibilities as i had an idea like this

There is no law in nature that forbids it doing it with Arduino.
However there are many human laws that forbid it to sell it as such.

What is your scientific background?
Are you familiar with signal processing - which is needed.
Are you familiar with the "normal"signals of the heart and what they mean?
Also the difference between normal signals and signals that indicate a heart attack and all the other emotions that affect normal heart beats?
AFAIK there does not exist a commercial device that can conclude 100% sure that there is a heart attack, it is always the medic that needs to interpret the signals as there can be other causes.

Actually, I very nearly ended up with one!

It's called an "ICD" - Implanted Cardiac Defibrillator and if the heart stops or goes into VF, it corrects the rhythm in whatever way is necessary. In current devices, if it is near its base station (beside the bed), it will also call the cardiologist and report what is happening.

Not cheap though.

In fact I was going to suggest to the OP that while he's at it, he could implement an AED.

Even as an uncertified "just for the hell of it" experimental device, this is no trivial matter to construct, I should reckon.

recent there was someone who build an AED simulator -

I just realise how impractical is my idea !!!!!!! Thanks a lot for the replies.. I guess the TITLE in itself is wrong .But making a device which would help the cardiac patient to get immediate medical help in case of a critical condition would be a practical idea right . something Like finding the hospitals nearby to the patient's location and sending messages seeking help ???

think Android with GPS, google Maps and hospital geo-search, etc
Not an Arduino...

Are you aware of the last sentence in the fine print disclaimer at the bottom of Atmel's microcontroller datasheets?

Atmel products are not intended, authorized, or warranted for use as components in applications intended to support or sustain life.

to sum this all up.

there is a commercial device.

most of us on here do now know how to detect a heart attack and those that do would not post how. the reason is very simple. you make one, someone dies, the family sues you, find out who told you and then they get sued.

bottom line my friend is that this is dooable.
but you will have to figure it out all on your own.

two more observations
#1) if it were easy, there would be scored on the market
#2) if you do figure it out, you will be a well educate arduino user !

one recommendation.

read up and study blink without delay.
why ?

well, it is the basis of many projects and it will give you something to help educate your self about aduinos.

When you leave out the stuff in the middle, this thread is summarised below:
