Arduino prototype

is there a arduino board you can solder components onto ie a single board not a shield ?

Do you means something like an Arduino with a built-in prototyping area? Did you try Google?

hi John, that is exactly what I am looking for

i tried google but got pages of shields

thanks for the links

I used a Google image search to find the boards that didn't look like shields:

ahh - good thinking I must rember to use that feature in future !

Thanks again

Or if you want one that follows the Arduino form factor more closely (including headers in the same place for shield compatibility) there's also this one, which has a small prototyping area inside the standard Arduino shape:

Several types of connector boards are available to connect all arduino IOs to breadboard or perforation boards for larger area. The protoshield handles very small projects ok but could be too small for you.

Here is a link to several of them:

Notice the phi-connect is my design. Also the Aussie shield and quick shield are good choices.
