I find it very confusing that everytime I search something about Arduino in Google, I get (nearly) allways only results from the old forum (www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num...).
Please exlude the old forum from search engine indexing. E.g. through setting "robots.txt" or "". Some search engines allow more control over the indexing, e.g. https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
I think, all treads from the old forum were imported to the new forum. So why do you wait to start the transition in search engines?
Actually, going down into those categories shows that all of the posts were in fact migrated, although they were not sorted. This means that theoretically, if only the new forum were searched it would still get all of the old posts, just on the new forum. Please actually look into what you're talking about before you say it.
you are right about the fact that the old forum is predominant at the search engines. Our survey about the way users access Arduino information shows that people are using Google as the main reference for looking for information about Arduino. This is one of the reasons why we haven't done this yet. Our goal is to generate a script that will link the old pages to the ones inside the new forum. However this has a low priority in our list.
Just be patient, we are gonna make it Of course if you know a way to make it happen quick, don't hesitate to send me the info, I would love to get it implemented asap.
