Pulse Sensor Clip

Any ideas for the design of a pulse clip?

We've been making too many clip but not even one is really good in getting a good pulse.

What is a Pulse sensor clip?

It could mean many things.

I am making a pulse oximeter clip sir
here's the link:

We are really having difficulties on the design of the clip.
what are the distance of the sensors to the finger.

what are the distance of the sensors to the finger.

They are normally in contact with the finger. The idea is that the IR bounces off the bone so they are angled slightly towards each other.
However, this sort of sensor requires you to be quite still while you take the readings.

This is a diagram of something I made back in April 1984

I have a question sir.
Is it possible to use a nellcor max-a disposable pulse oxi into a arduino. It has a very bright red led and a photodiode.
I am having difficulties in detecting a pulse using the arduino.

Another question sir.
When the two sensors across. Must the monitoring led turned off?

Sorry, I attached two pictures only one made it, so here is the other one.

I would imagine so yes.

I am having difficulties in detecting a pulse using the arduino.

What amplifier are you using, it is a very small signal and it needs amplifying.

When the two sensors across.

There is only one sensor, the two outputs from that sensor are shown in that diagram as SK and SA.

Must the monitoring led turned off?

No there is no reason to turn off the LED. Note that this is an IR LED, they work better getting through the skin.

I'm going to use LM358 sir as an amplifier.
In the example that I've been studying is that there is no amplifier used but an IR and phototransistor are the sensors, but still I am having difficulties in detecting the pulse.
That's why I'm going to use the nellcor max-a with amplifier.

here's the project sir that I've based my studies. It starts at page 73.

Thanks for the guidance sir!

That is an illegal file rip off site. You have no right to down load that file.

oh I'm very sorry sir. My adviser just give me this pdf as reference. =(

Well the author of that book regularly posts on this site. I am sure he will be happy that his book is being ripped off.

My adviser just give me this pdf as reference

Tell your adviser he is promoting piracy and he could be sacked for doing so.

Wow.. lord knows I would be pissed off finding this link. That's Simon's book, right?

And people get twitchy when I get twitchy about copyrights. I don't know what he does for a living, I certainly hope that he doesn't make a substantial income from that book..

And this is why authors, musicians, and graphic artists are now SCREWED.

I deleted the file sir. I am very sorry.
