Hey, I bougth a lcd 2x16 mc16021E. I tried using the wiring on LiquidCrystal help. It turns on but doesn't display any kind characters. How can I check it's Hitachi HD44780 compatible or if buy a new that its compatible?

You would compare it's datasheet with that of an HD44780.

If you had looked carefully at your datasheet you would find out that your device has a non-standard pinout. Your device should work if you wire it in accordance with the names and/or numbers of the pins without considering the physical location of the display pins on the diagrams you have been following.

I did the wiring according to the names. It turns on but there isn't printed not even by error.
