Is Arduino for me?

Hey,
I'm a computer engineering major and I was wondering if Arduino would be helpful for me? Is it for electrical engineers more than it is for computer engineers? I'm currently concentrating on Logic Design in my study, and was wondering if Arduino is not the right "Educational" tool for me, what is?

Thank you

The Arduinos are very cheap microprocessors with open source C++ based programming.
Is such a system useful for you? You decide.

If you're into Logic Design you should look for CPLDs or FPGAs.
These chips on breakoutboards could be stimulated by an Arduino (in the lower frequency range).

Thank you, that's the answer i was looking for. I appreciate it.

Hi,
If you are going to do any electronics or automation design in the future you will need to know microcontrollers well. Arduino is the easiest and cheapest way to dive in. See some how-to like THIS:

ALL the really interesting jobs are multidisciplinary! Dive into software, logic design, FPGAs and integrated systems. Learn about some mechanics and motion control.

You don't want any hard boundaries in what you know something about!

And eventually you can make really cool toys for your kids...
