touch screen system

Ok so heres the deal. I want to make a system that will allow me to use a touch screen to turn lights/motors on or off. Im new to this so I'm just trying to learn what i need as far as hardwarehardwturnare. I have some experience in electronics but not a whole lot. Im wanting the screen to have icons similar to an ipod that i could touch once and it would turn on, and once more to turn off.

Can anyone help me out with what boards to get?

Arduino + touch + screen --> 921,000 hits. I'm sure you could have found something relevant.

so I'm just trying to learn what i need as far as hardwarehardwturnare.

Spelling lessons, maybe?

The key is to find a touch screen that you like, and build the application around that.

Alright, I'll do a search but don't be such an a-hole. That was my first post and I didn't have time to research it at the time.

I typed that out on my phone. Not the easiest thing to right a post with. Again, don't be an a-hole.

I'm sure there are several applications similar to the one I'm wanting to make. I'll just have to do the research later.

Been reading "How to Win Friends and Influence People" in your spare time, I see.

The front end is the easy part, and I'd suggest you develop this as a webapp. For an easy life host the webapp on a real computer and just use the Arduino as a means for the webapp to interface with hardware. By far the more important (IMO) question is how you're going to implement the controllers for all these things you want to control.

But - you haven't bothered to research the problem yourself, but you're happy to waste our time?

You should first do some research, find out what you need, the ask questions. You haven't even bothered to do some research. And if you want people to answer questions, be polite. You could've said, I'm sorry, you know how difficult it is to type on a phone, please don't make fun of me, or something like that
