Servo current?

Hey all,

HobbyKing don't list current requirements for either of the servos I have, to wit HK15138 and HXT900.

The Fluke Fairy didn't yet drop off my Christmas 17B DMM- out of stock grrr- and the el cheapo DMM that I do have doesn't measure current.

Anyone know roughly what current servos like those might draw please?

Cheers,

Jim

When at standstill and under no mechanical load 10-30ma is a common value. While moving and with various loads who knows and that's why they don't normally give a max current draw spec on most servos. I usually budget on 1 amp max minimum and usually don't have a problem.

Thanks Lefty.... I am SO itching to get my Fluke.....

I found values of upto 140ma while sweeping under no load -

And 1 to 1.5 amp stall currents

HXT900:

Sweeping under no load 100mA
Stall current: 700mA
