For the car management system I'm currently building I use a photoresistor to detect whether to turn on the lights or not.
And I'm wondering what would be the best way to mount the resistor in my dash as cleanly as possible...
Any suggestions?
A panel mount clip maybe ?!? If its thin enough, u can use a Metal, panel mount bezel one, if not a clip one is better given the circumstances.

Maybe switch to using a phototransistor; some come in cases like 3mm LEDs, then you can use standard LED panel mount clips...
Well, I've found lots of phototransistors in cases like 5mm LEDs, which would be ideal.
But they all seem to be intended for infrared :~
Would one like this: SFH300-4 datasheet & application notes - Datasheet Archive be suitable for detecting visible light?
It says it has a range from 420 to 1130 nm, but below 700 nm the sensitivity doesn't look all that great...
