Im wondering, what are the maximum number of servos i can use with 1 arduino board?

I dont intend to use any shields, as i actually hate shields (Long story ¬_¬)

Can i use Shift Registers (74HC595)?

I already own one.

I plan to be making a simple robotic arm (8 Servos)

Thanks guys - Jagatia

From the library reference:

"The Servo library supports up to 12 motors on most Arduino boards and 48 on the Arduino Mega. "

thanks for that :P

I guess im going to buy a Mega then xD

actually, hold on, thats without a shift register am i correct?
with one i can get more inputs, thus more motors?

Im not sure if it will work :/

Hi,

Read this,

Then this

The Uno can drive 12 servos, thats twice the six you have asked for and in doing so it uses only 1% of its processing power, I was both surprised and impressed when I measured this.
